What it is
Dry sift is made by gently rubbing dried cannabis flowers over a series of fine mesh screens. The trichome heads — the resin glands that carry cannabinoids and terpenes — fall through while plant material stays behind. The collected powder (kief) is then pressed or kept loose.
How it's made
Producers freeze the material first so trichomes turn brittle and snap off cleanly. Multiple screen sizes (measured in microns) separate full-melt-grade heads from contaminants. The best dry sift is almost pure gland heads.
How it's consumed
Sprinkle over flower, press into a temple ball, or dab full-melt grades. Lower grades are ideal for cooking after decarboxylation.
Terpenes
High — no water, no heat, trichome heads stay intact
